This was a excellent way to finish up this series。 If you loved the series as much as I did I would definitely recommend this book。

I really liked it as a finale to the Selection series。 It brought together loose strings and showed some parts we didn’t get to see。 I’m glad I read it and I’m going to miss America。

“‘i don’t know if i can love someone, not the way you love her。’even without saying america’s name, i could see the way the light changed in his eyes at the thought of her。”cant think of anything i love more than a pov of someone outside of the main relationship who talks about how painfully palpable the love between them is, even when the people in the actual relationship may not recognize it, and this book is fucking full of it。 once again, thank you kiera cass。

This book is really just a collection of novellas to see the points of view of other characters in the selections series。 Although I would have loved an entire companion book in explaining Maxom’s point of view and how Amberly missed so many things, the others were a little of a stretch to me。

My favourite was The Favourite (Marlee’s point of view) and there are so many adorable quotes about her and Carter (the cutest couple ever) I could put into this review but I’m not going to be because a) spoilers and b) I’m not going to go back and look for them at the moment lol。 But regardless, it’s an adorable novella collection and I loved every page of it。 I do feel like The Favourite and The Maid were cut rudely short at 30 pages and 10 pages。 I want The novellas just kept getting better! I loved getting more background to couples like Carter and Marlee and Lucy and Aspen, and the second epilogue to The One was so cute and I loved reading it。 Celeste’s POV was very interesting to read and you could really see her growth and I loved the character art throughout the book。 Probably my favourite novella collection (btw I mean that’s an spin off of a series or novel)。 I can’t wait to read The Heir, although I’ve heard the new main character is unlikeable。 I’m trying to withhold judgement。 I don’t know if there’s spoilers in this but I’m putting the spoiler filter on anyway。 。。。more

If you didn't read the original three books, this book makes little sense to you, I'm just saying。 I enjoyed all the other little snippets of stories we got about the other characters。 My favorite was probably Amberly's (The Queen)。 I enjoyed all the rest, but that one was my favorite, made me long to have seen Amberly's whole selection more in depth。 The character they created of Clarkson's parents intrigued me and explained a lot about King Clarkson himself。 I did enjoy Marlee's story, but it If you didn't read the original three books, this book makes little sense to you, I'm just saying。 I enjoyed all the other little snippets of stories we got about the other characters。 My favorite was probably Amberly's (The Queen)。 I enjoyed all the rest, but that one was my favorite, made me long to have seen Amberly's whole selection more in depth。 The character they created of Clarkson's parents intrigued me and explained a lot about King Clarkson himself。 I did enjoy Marlee's story, but it was just kind of there - I didn't feel like I NEEDED to read it。 Same for Aspen's story, though it was very nice to see him not pine after America as she fell more and more in love with Maxon - that probably would have annoyed me to have had to read that。The epilogue was cute though, I enjoyed reading that one probably second best。 。。。more

Eu achei esse um pouquinho bom, a primeira trilogia eu amei, não gostei de todos os contos, mas o meu favorito foi mostrando a reação do Maxon, quando América conta que está grávida amei esse conto mas o reto achei cansativo。

BOOK REVIEW - Happily Ever After by Kiera Cass⭐⭐⭐⭐Without giving any spoilers, here is what I thought of them。THE QUEEN: I enjoyed this one as it told the story of Queen Amberley and King Clarkson of their own Selection and how they ended up together。THE PRINCE: LOVED this one as we were able to see things from Maxon's perspective。 I wish I had the full story told by him。THE GUARD: I was hoping this novella would make me like Aspen more but I guess his ship has already sailed。 This is the only BOOK REVIEW - Happily Ever After by Kiera Cass⭐⭐⭐⭐Without giving any spoilers, here is what I thought of them。THE QUEEN: I enjoyed this one as it told the story of Queen Amberley and King Clarkson of their own Selection and how they ended up together。THE PRINCE: LOVED this one as we were able to see things from Maxon's perspective。 I wish I had the full story told by him。THE GUARD: I was hoping this novella would make me like Aspen more but I guess his ship has already sailed。 This is the only novella I was hoping for more。THE FAVORITE: And also MY favorite。 It tells the story of Marlee and OMG this was good and intense!Bonus scenes from Celeste, the Maid and after The One was also a really nice addition as I got to learn a bit more about other characters and what came after。Overall this was a great read and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoyed The Selection series。 ❤ 。。。more

I’m currently rereading the selection series, and honestly ? I remembered this book being so much better than it actually was, I actually dnf’d it because I just couldn’t continue。don’t get me wrong, even if a selection book was bad I would still love it no matter what because it is a part of this universe ( I’m not saying this was a bad book ofc ) but after being hooked to the first three and not being able to put them down reading this one was so so disappointing, I read up to page 140 and had I’m currently rereading the selection series, and honestly ? this book is an anthology so i’m basically going to rate it based on each of the small novellas inside。 THE QUEEN:amberly was my favorite。 she always has been even in the first three books because she was just so pure and lady like。 she was THE example of a perfect queen。 she was poised, loyal, and would do anything she wanted to。in the first 3 books of the selection series i was SO MAD that she still loved clarkson。 i mean even though she didn’t know of the abuse clarkson did to maxon she HAD t this book is an anthology so i’m basically going to rate it based on each of the small novellas inside。 THE QUEEN:amberly was my favorite。 she always has been even in the first three books because she was just so pure and lady like。 she was THE example of a perfect queen。 she was poised, loyal, and would do anything she wanted to。in the first 3 books of the selection series i was SO MAD that she still loved clarkson。 i mean even though she didn’t know of the abuse clarkson did to maxon she HAD to know something。 i mean there’s just no way she didn’t。 i honestly feel so bad for her because she had multiple miscarriages and knew that she wouldn’t be able to give birth to a normal child。 and even though clarkson STILL made her his queen despite that just gave her false hope。 it honestly is just terrible that she died protecting clarkson when ALL HE DID was abuse her mentally and abuse his son physically。 i mean it’s absolutely disgusting。 there relationship honestly just shows awareness to those who have relationships like this。 yes, there are MANY good parts but you can’t forget that there are also MANY bad parts。 and she just kept forgetting them。 and although i understand the trauma clarkson went through it honestly didn’t mean anything if he’s abusing his son and wife for nothing。THE PRINCE:ugh loved。 maxon is definitely my favorite character in the whole selection series, mostly because he sees the good in people。 ever since i read the first book i have been DYING to know what he thought about america when he first met her。and the fact that he was star struck — absolutely starstruck was amazing。 i mean he literally KNEW that she would be ‘the one’ even if she didn’t know it yet。 and THE FACT that he wanted to do all these kind things for her despite the fact that she was a five and would definitely not be approved by his father was absolutely amazing。 it just shows that he was falling in love with her so quickly。 like ugh。i seriously didn’t know about daphne (i don’t think she was even in the first 3 books) but i loved that she was in this one。 it honestly just showed how maxon needed love and how it would change his life for good。 i seriously doubt that without daphne and her rather sad talking to, he wouldn’t have even known if he was capable of love。 i am def a maxerica stan even tho america sucks sometimes。 also the fact that he KNEW something was up with his mom but couldn’t explain it is SO SAD。 like he knew she was starting to deteriorate but he couldn’t say anything because he didn’t know what to do or say about her condition。 ugh just love amberly。 and hate clarkson。THE GUARD:although aspen was undeniably one of my least favorite characters in the selection; i seriously think this novella changed him。 although i wished it showed more of his and lucy’s love story i do think it was nice to see his point of view of some of the moments in the other books。 i’m going to come out and say that i absolutely hate aspen and america together。 i mean it’s young love and i can’t exactly hate aspen for messing up at the tree house because he did try to fix it。 i just really love maxon and america so it’s hard to see them together。 i honestly cringed each time they were together。however, i do love how perceptive aspen is when noticing the king and prince。 and although he definitely has very distasteful feelings towards the king, but mostly the prince, he does try to see through his eyes。 i just don’t get when aspen gave up。 i don’t understand when aspen gave up loving america because i know that after the accident in the woods, america and maxon stayed together; so it begs the question of when in the world did aspen start falling in love with lucy? ugh i honestly just wish this novella showed their love story instead of aspen trying so hard to get america to love him again WHEN HE KNEW her heart was for the prince and would always be from then on。 THE FAVORITE:wow! wow! i always loved marlee, even in the first three books, and i’m SO glad that we good to hear carter and her love story。 since in the books it felt kind of spur of the moment。 i loved how the book was written as if she was looking back on all her memories with carter。and the fact that she could HEAR someone calling out to her and that she knew it was america seriously just proves her friendship。 i just love that they both came to each other’s aids when they were hurt。 i mean america’s gunshot wound and marlees caning i mean legit best friends。i love carter and marlees love story。 it’s so pure and wholesome and you can tell from the first moment that he was falling in love with her。 and THE FACT that he would go out of his way to bring her flowers and take her to the hospital just makes their love story 10X BETTER。i honestly love that we got to see maxon and america on the throne。 since the one didn’t show any of that。 ESPECIALLY because we got to see marlee and carter become the first casteless people。 which literally makes my heart so happy。 i mean you can tell that maxon knows that he would risk anything for love。 AND THE FACT。 that marlee and maxon both knew that he was falling in love with her without him even saying anything。 like。 ugh just proves why marlee and carter and maxon and america are true couple goals。 yes! SCENES FROM CELESTE:wow。 i always said during the first three books that celestes character development was absolutely incredible。 you can even see it during her three scenes in this book。 i honestly get so sad when i realize that celeste didn’t get to see america get engaged to or get married like what? that’s so sad。 especially because she would of LOVED to be there。 she probably would have even been a bridesmaid。 i mean think about the friendship development between celeste and america。 and then she just DIES? WHAT。ugh i will NEVER forgive kiera cass for that。 never。 i love celeste and i loved her little novella。 you really just got to see the true celeste and how her mind worked all through the selection。 she knew by the end that she needed forgiveness and that she was alone。 she realized that the elite had become her family。 and then she just dies。 literally。 bullet to the head。 like COME ON。THE MAID:remember how i said i wish aspens novella was about his and lucy’s love story? well i got some of that on lucy’s。 although i wish we had a FULL ON book of their love, i do seriously love them together。i mean lucy has been through love and has experienced it, as has aspen, and THE FACT that he chose her。 he knew that she would be his from then forth。 like oh my god。 it just totally made aspens character all the more exciting。AND THE FACT that lucy stood up for herself。 girl。 you may be small and quiet but you are 100% A BADASS。 yes maam。 absolutely love aspen and lucy。 overall i rate this book a 4。4/5⭐️ i absolutely loved the fact that we got to see more of maxon and america and everyone after the selection。 such a good series! def recommend for ya readers!! 。。。more

i’m going to be honest here。 I only read the short story with america and maxon post “the one” and maxon’s pov from “the selection”。 everything else didn’t seem that interesting to me。 I don’t think it’s worth the buy unless you REALLY want just a smidge more america+maxon content after reading “the one” (like me)。

I would rate this book a 3。 It was good and I was enjoying it until Aspens section of it。 His section of the book was one of the longest and it just dragged on a annoyed me。 I found myself reading the book to finish it and not because I actually enjoyed it。 It was still pretty good though and I specifically enjoyed Celeste's sections。 I would rate this book a 3。 It was good and I was enjoying it until Aspens section of it。 His section of the book was one of the longest and it just dragged on a annoyed me。 I found myself reading the book to finish it and not because I actually enjoyed it。 It was still pretty good though and I specifically enjoyed Celeste's sections。 。。。more

I read this book a few years ago and read it again because I remember it being really good。 But probably should've thought about my age?? So I recommend this book for like Year 4-5 kids, because the language has basic language and some scenes are a bit more for the older primary kids。 Overall a great book, just was disappointed from the last time I read it :) I read this book a few years ago and read it again because I remember it being really good。 But probably should've thought about my age??
